We are excited to announce a dance workshop with Natalia Garcia-Huidobro and Ulises Diaz. Natalia García-Huidobro will help dancers at intermediate level to explore and understand the relationship between the dance (el baile) and the song (el cante), with a focus on bulerias. You will review and then build on the choreography taught in the class and then learn how to listen and adapt the dance to fit into the song. Natalia will be joined by Ulises Díaz singer and percussionist!
The workshop is on Sunday 19th June, 1pm to 4pm at La Suerte Dance School, 3rd Floor, 60 Charles Street, Manchester M1 7DF.
We have an early bird price of £40 for those who book and pay before Sunday 5th June. After this the price will be £45.

This should be great !
Born in La Línea de la Concepción (Cadiz, Spain), dancer and coreographer David Morales started his artistic career at the early age of 6 years old. He has taken part in most of the main Flamenco festivals of the late 70´s, sharing the stage with big flamenco artists such as Camarón de la Isla, Fosforito, Paco Cepero and Chiquetete.
Although that early starting career, his artistic path was planned for a long term. This way, he has gained a very respectable career through three decades, including several stages of Flamenco and with the advantage that he’s still a thirty something talented man.
Instituto Cervantes in Manchester is very proud to introduce this incredible young artist with a company of a female dancer (bailaora), a guitarist and a singer (cantaor).

In 2013 we had a really nice Christmas Peña at the Klondyke in Levenshulme. Leo gave a fantastic workshop in the afternoon. He showed some Tangos rhythms that he not only played but filmed for our enjoyment.
Here is a video from a video from back in 2013. I kept it as a private link for ages, but now that Brenda who dances here is sadly not with us anymore it seems appropriate to share the clip for everyone to enjoy. I remember at the time she had a bus pass around her neck which she was later really embarrassed about. She was a really inspiring dancer, teacher and passionate about developing a vibrant scene for Flamenco in Manchester.
